ASUS: Zenbook 14, a laptop and dual-screen monitor

This year, ASUS decided to treat its users. At CES 2024 in Las Vegas, the manufacturer unveiled a slew of new features for its laptops, as well as the latest iteration of its gaming smartphones: the ROG Phone 8.

Following the presentation of updated ROG laptops, the Taiwanese company unveiled an interesting new foldable monitor, a dual-screen ultrabook and the next generation Zenbook 14. All of these devices are designed for those who want to maximize their productivity without overloading themselves on the go.

Convenience on the go

The ZenScreen Fold's 17.3-inch OLED screen can be used as a regular secondary monitor, but can also be folded for easy storage. This is possible thanks to a hinge similar to that used in foldable smartphones.

It seems that folding the screen, which for some may be unsightly or even a nuisance, is particularly inconspicuous here. When unfolded, the screen is only 9.7mm thick (1.9cm when folded) and weighs no more than 1.2kg. While this may seem a bit heavy, it's light enough to be easily transported.

With a resolution of 2560x1920, the monitor delivers rich colors and deep blacks, covering 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, according to ASUS. It is also DisplayHDR True Black 500 compliant.

Zenbook DUO, a perfectly optimized dual-screen ultrabook

It looks like ASUS has also equipped its latest Zenbook DUO laptop with a foldable screen. It features two 13-inch touchscreen OLED screens with 3K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, but a cheaper 60Hz version is also included.

The PC has an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, 32GB of RAM (max) and a 75Wh battery. It also comes with a Bluetooth keyboard that fits between the two screens when folded up, which improves ergonomics. However, including the keyboard, it is slightly heavier than the ZenScreen Fold, weighing in at 1.3kg.

While ASUS' new monitor doesn't yet have a release date or price, the new Zenbook DUO will go on sale in early February. The 120Hz version will cost €2,400, while the 60Hz PC will sell for €2,000.

Zenbook 14, an ultrabook with artificial intelligence

ASUS also took advantage of CES 2024 to unveil a new generation of Zenbook: the Zenbook 14 OLED. This model is optimized with artificial intelligence and Ryzen AI to improve performance. The laptop also features a new Copilot key on the keyboard.

The Zenbook 14 features a 3K ASUS Lumina OLED display with a resolution of 2880×1800 at 120Hz or 1920×1200 at 60Hz. Its internal architecture includes an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, Radeon GPU, 1TB SSD and 16GB of RAM.

It is expected to go on sale in early March 2024 at a price of around €1,000. However, it is impossible to know if this price refers to the 60Hz or 120Hz version.
