TUF Gaming 2024: ASUS updates gaming laptops

ASUS: Gaming A16, F16 and A15 update

ASUS is definitely on a roll in early 2024: the brand has updated its ROG laptops, released a dual-screen ultrabook and the ROG Phone 8 gaming smartphone. The TUF Gaming PCs have not been forgotten, and they've gotten an update as well.

In a nutshell, the TUF 2024 lineup inherited new Intel, AMD and NVIDIA chips, and in the case of ASUS TUF Gaming A16 and F16 - an updated case. In addition, the TUF Gaming A15 returns with an improved processor and DDR5 memory.

Raptor Lake and Ryzen paired with the RTX 40

While the ROGs use 14th generation Intel Core processors (Raptor Lake Refresh and Meteor Lake) or Ryzen 8000, the TUF Gaming F16 2024 is based on older Intel processors, namely the "standard" Raptor Lake. As for the machines under the AMD banner, the A16 is limited to Ryzen 7000 and the A15 to Ryzen 8000.

More specifically, the ASUS TUF Gaming F16 features a Core i7-13650HX processor with 14 cores and 20 threads coupled with DDR5-4800 RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card.

Buyers who prefer AMD processors should opt for the ASUS TUF Gaming A16, which features a Ryzen 9 7845HX supported by DDR5-5200. The GPU is not AMD, but still NVIDIA, in this case the GeForce RTX 4070. The ASUS TUF Gaming A15 uses a Ryzen 8000 with DDR5-5600 and RTX 40.

TUF Gaming F16 and A16 update

The ASUS TUF Gaming F16 and A16 get new 16-inch screens with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a "screen-to-device ratio of 90%." The company notes the "sleek look inspired by the mecha style seen in anime, comics and games."

Both devices are available in two colors, Jaeger Gray with a laser-engraved TUF logo and Mecha Gray with an embossed logo. Finally, in terms of durability and strength, the devices are MIL-STD-810H 2024 compliant.
